ILEITIS ARSENAL

Ask your veterinarian how Enterisol® Ileitis can increase the return on investment for your operation.

Its benefits are clear:

  1. Long-term protection against both subclinical and clinical ileitis from an oral vaccination

  2. Improved average daily gain and feed efficiency

  3. Reduced mortality and lightweights

  4. Reduced need for feed medications

  5. Convenient one-dose water system delivery.

The oral vaccine comes in frozen form and is available in 100-, 250- and 500-dose units. A non-frozen form has been available for about a year and is more convenient for smaller groups or for gilts. It comes in 50- and 100-dose units.

Denagard® (tiamulin) is a broad-spectrum antibiotic providing both enteric and systemic activity. Denagard 10 medicated premix is labeled for control of ileitis and control and treatment of swine dysentery. It can be used with chlortetracycline — Denagard Plus — to control dysentery and treat bacterial pneumonia due to P. multocida and bacterial enteritis from salmonella and E. coli.

Denagard 10 is a fast-acting product in the ileitis control arsenal. It is the only premix that can knock out ileitis in 10 days, which means significant cost savings compared to medications that require a full 21 days.

In an antibiotic class used exclusively for food animal production worldwide, the active ingredient in Denagard is not used in human medicine, making it a prudent choice and excellent fit in antibiotic stewardship programs.
