Take immunologic control of ileitis

Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica's Enterisol® Ileitis is the world's only vaccine for preventing and controlling ileitis caused by Lawsonia intracellularis. Provided in a frozen form, the modified-live vaccine can be administered through drinking water system proportioners. That new approach makes population vaccination more practical by reducing labor demands, as well as making immunization nearly a no-stress venture.

Enterisol Ileitis has been proven to reduce the clinical impact of disease as well as shedding of the organism. Proper use of the vaccine removes the immunologic guesswork involved in trying to manage infection by antibiotic use.

Immunization allows medications to be used strategically and judiciously rather than continuously. Continous use creates concerns about cost, long-term effectiveness and food safety.

Field trials utilizing Enterisol Ileitis vaccine in growing/finishing pigs have demonstrated high returns — on average showing a net benefit of greater than $4 per pig placed.
